One of the most attractive and well equipped hotels I’ve visited in North Africa is the Berbère Palace.

Berbère Palace Egyptian Seat

Built in a Kasbah style, the hotel has 240 comfortable, air-conditioned guestrooms with in-room facilities that include a desk, a minibar and a separate sitting area. The modern bathrooms include bathrobes and slippers, complimentary toiletries and hair dryer. Wireless high-speed Internet access is complimentary. The hotel combines high-quality service with plenty of authentic Berber decorations, crafts and artifacts. It also has, especially in the public areas, Egyptian-looking decorations.

Berbère Palace Dessert Table

Dining facilities at Le Berbere Palace include three indoor/outdoor restaurants, a cafeteria and, of course, room service; they offer French, Italian and classic Moroccan cuisine, especially flavorful cold salads, and a dessert buffet that is second to none.  Other hotel amenities are a gift shop/newsstand, hair salon, library, patio and tennis court(s) and a nightclub.

Berbère Palace Pool

There is a delightful outdoor swimming pool and guests can enjoy spa/wellness facilities and a sauna and a traditional Moroccan hammam.

The garden is spectacular, with multiple seating areas and is decorated with copies of ancient Greek and Roman sculptures. The rooms are in building complexes separate from the main structure. The main building is devoted to only the public areas, restaurants, offices etc.

It is an oasis on the doorstep of the desert.

We only stayed there one evening, but that whipped up my appetite to make sure to revisit the hotel and the area on a future Moroccan trip.
