Barceló Gran Añejo Dark

Ron Barceló Rums Spread Holiday Cheer

Ron Barceló, the world's #1 imported dark rum, introduced its award-winning new variant, Ron Barceló Gran Añejo Dark Series, at an intimate tasting/ dinner held in a private room at Simon & The Whale Restaurant in the Freehand Hotel in New York City. We were a congenial group of 16, seated at a hollow square   table, which made for an easy flow of conversation. The festive evening, a celebration of Barcelo’s continued expansion of product, began with a presentation and tasting of the spirit.

Barceló Gran Añejo Dark Series is a sophisticated carefully crafted blend of rums that are distilled in the Dominican Republic from the juice of fresh cut, estate grown sugar cane, and then aged for 6 years in heavily charred ex-bourbon barrels; it possesses an exceptionally pleasing taste, characterized by its woody flavor and just the right sweetness; it was  smooth in flavor  with flirtatious seductive notes and a velvety smooth aftertaste. The three- course dinner that followed paired each course with a signature Ron Barceló cocktail, carefully selected to enhanced and elevate a special evening.

Barceló was founded by Julian Barceló in 1930 in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic. The brand quickly gained popularity throughout DR, and is now exported internationally throughout the Caribbean, Europe and The Americas. It is the leading brand in Chile and Spain.

Today, the brand’s word class portfolio of award-winning rums includes: Ron Barceló Imperial Premium Brand, Ron Barceló Imperial, Barceló Gran Platinum, Ron Barceló Gran Anejo, Ron Barceló Anejo, Ron Barceló Rum Dorado… and their new Barceló Gran Dark Anejo series.

Barceló rums are all about nightlife, socializing and sharing. For me, it was discovering the versatility of a new award-winning Barceló rum.
